Belching – Symptoms, Causes and Home Remedies

Bringing up air from the stomach is called belching. When you swallow, along with food and liquids, you also swallow air. It’s a natural process and also known as burping. Though it reduces stomach discomfort but too much belching brings upsetting situations.

Belching Symptoms:

  • The gas is accompanied by a distinct smell and sound

Belching Causes:

  • Eating and drinking too fast can cause excess air to be swallowed along with food
  • Consuming carbonated drinks like soft drinks, beer, etc.
  • Indigestion

Natural Home Remedy Using Cider Vinegar and Lemon Juice:

  1. Take 1 glass of water
  2. Add 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  3. Add 1 tsp lemon juice
  4. Mix well
  5. Drink the mixture before every meal

Natural Home Remedy Using Mint Leaves:

  1. Take 1 glass of water
  2. Crush a handful of mint leaves to make a paste
  3. Add this paste to water
  4. Mix well
  5. Drink once everyday for 2 weeks

Natural Home Remedy Using Curd, Salt and Asafoetida Powder:

  1. Take 1 glass of water
  2. Add 1 tbsp of curd
  3. Add 1 tsp salt
  4. Add a pinch of asafoetida powder
  5. Mix well
  6. Drink everyday

Tips:

  • Sit upright when eating
  • Eat slowly
  • Eat small quantities of food
  • Avoid chewing gums
  • Avoid carbonated drinks
  • Avoid eating too many onion and chocolates
  • Exercise regularly to reduce stress
