Tennis Elbow (Tendonitis) – Symptoms, Causes and Home Remedies

Tennis elbow (Tendonitis) is an excruciating state of the elbow. Often caused by overuse, tennis elbow is a swelling of the ligaments that link the forearm muscles. When tendons develop some sort if injury or impaired from overuse, it could lead to discomfort and soreness on the exterior of the elbow.

Tennis Elbow (Tendonitis) Symptoms:

  • It is a painful condition
  • This pain restricts movement of your arm


Tennis elbow might result from:

  • Tennis
  • Racquetball
  • Squash
  • Fencing
  • Weight lifting


People with occupations or hobbies that need monotonous arm activities or gripping such as:

  • Carpentry
  • Typing
  • Painting
  • Raking
  • Knitting


Tennis Elbow (Tendonitis) Causes:

  • Activity which requires constantly gripping something hard for long hours
  • Make a fist or grip an object, such as a tennis racket
  • Open a door or shake hands
  • Raise your hand or straighten your wrist


Natural Home Remedy Using Ice:

  1. Take a clean cloth
  2. Wrap some ice cubes in it
  3. Place the cloth gently on the affected joint
  4. Do this for 15-20 min
  5. Repeat 2 times a day


Natural Home Remedy Using Cabbage Leaves:

  1. Soak cabbage leaves in water for 30 min
  2. Press the leaves on the affected joint
  3. Wrap a cloth to hold it
  4. Leave it overnight


Natural Home Remedy Using Broccoli:

  1. Take some broccoli
  2. Crush it to make paste
  3. Apply this on the joint
  4. Wrap a cloth to hold it still
  5. Leave it on for 20 min


Natural Home Remedy Using Potato:

  1. Mash 1 boiled potato
  2. Apply this on the affected joint
  3. Wrap a cloth to hold it
  4. Leave it for 30 min


Tips:

  • This condition can be caused by:
  • Typing constantly on a keyboard
  • Sitting in an uncomfortable position
  • Take regular breaks
